We received this delightful holiday letter from a family of alumni travelers and felt it was too good not to share:
"This year a 17 day Tanzanian Safari with Wildland Adventures exceeded our greatest expectations. We spent long, full days in Arusha, Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti National Parks where the extraordinary teeming abundance of wildlife led to up close and personal encounters with lions (100+), elephants, leopards, cheetah and way too many wildebeest, hippos, giraffes, impala, ect, to count.
And we had a private tour! Our driver-guide spotted game at every turn while driving in our open top Toyota Land Cruiser on Tanzania's infamous roads. In addition to wildlife sightings, we had fascinating encounters with a few of the 120 tribal groups, including a walkabout with the primitive Hadzabe hunter/gatherers as they sought game with bow and arrows.
Seeing a snowcapped Mount Kilimanjaro as we left was the perfect...
