You may not know this, but Wildland Adventures has been planning custom trips to Brazil for several years now, relying on the personal travel experiences of several staff members to create unique, private itineraries. Though previously the country was not listed among the destinations we offer on our website, alumni Wildland travelers who had journeyed with us elsewhere in South America frequently approached us to help plan their travel in Brazil. We must have been doing something right because travelers returned enamored with Brazil, the word spread, interest increased and FINALLY we have launched our first Wildland Adventure in Brazil!
Into the Atlantic Rainforest is an active adventure that explores Brazil's Costa Verde region, a stunning landscape of pristine tropical beaches, rainforest and mist-clad mountains, remote islands and fjords and mangrove swamps teaming with wildlife. With a focus on Brazil's vibrant cultural and natural wonders, learn about traditional lifestyles in remote fishing villages, paddle kayaks along secluded beaches, search for on foot and by boat, hike to hidden waterfalls, explore the stunning colonial City of Paraty, and succumb to the enticing charms of Río – samba dancing included! Savor Brazil's flavorful cuisine, including some of the freshest seafood around as you interact with locals and learn about the history and culture of this region, which, like Bahia to the north, has a strong Afro-Brazilian presence.
This trip is perfect for adults and families with older children who will enjoy half-day hikes and kayaking for up to 5-6 hours. To coincide with the typical Fall Break/Thanksgiving holiday, we are hosting our inaugural departure November 23-December 1, 2013 with the option to extend your trip into Brazil's Southern Pantanal. So pass on the turkey this year in favor of feijoadas and caipirinhas in tropical Southern Brazil and join us on our Atlantic Rainforest Adventure!
If you can't make our November departure, we can also offer this trip on a private/custom basis over dates that work best for you. This works exceptionally well for honeymooners, particularly if you want to splurge and upgrade your accommodations extremely romantic and private pousadas in Paraty and Picinguaba. And stay tuned for more Brazil trips in the coming weeks, including an Ultimate Pantanal Adventure (ideal for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers), the Best of Brazil and an active cultural exploration of Bahia.
