Throughout the year, in virtually every place we travel, with support from our travelers, Wildland sponsors a conservation or community development project. These include building an after school community center with arts, library and computer center in a remote Andean village in Peru, supporting conservation and scientific research in Galapagos, tiger protection in India, wetlands protection in Costa Rica, and so much more.
But at the end of the year we wanted to do something closer to home that still related to travel and tourism...and then it hit us! So many people in so many communities for so many years have hosted us and all our travelers, welcoming us into their communities and their homes. So, our Wild Gang decided to pay if forward by putting together a World Relief home settlement kit for a recently arrived refugee immigrant family settling into our community.
We broke up into teams to put together what one family of four would need to settle into their home or apartment including bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and cleaning supplies, and child/school supplies.
It was so much fun everyone agrees we've started a new holiday tradition at Wildland Adventures.
Keeping it wild,
