Our Family's Trip to Vietnam and Cambodia Was An Amazing Adventure!
The Oliver family just got back from 17 days in Vietnam and Cambodia! The parents, Brenda and Dylan, had traveled extensively on their own but wanted to show their 2 boys, Elliot (7) and Jackson (8), a different culture with a side of adventure! Here's what they have to say about their trip to SE Asia: Overall: The trip was an amazing adventure. Great learning and bonding experience for families On the guides: We really enjoyed our time with Huan in Hanoi, the kids loved Linh in Hue, Hein was great on the bike tour, Dat in Saigon was full of knowledge, Len in Siem Reap was wonderful and knew just the right pace for the temples. Thida in Phnom Penh was well informed and we loved bringing her son to the wildlife sanctuary with us. She was very generous and enthusiastic to have us try many roadside treats.  Meals: Meals...

The Hiking was Wonderful!!

The Hiking was Wonderful!!
This active family of four just returned from a custom Hikers Patagonia Adventure in Patagonia and share some of their incredible experiences: “First of all, we enjoyed all the hiking- it was wonderful!! Second, we loved all of our guides!  Lorena in Santiago took care of us well. Chris in Patagonia Camp was good and entertaining. Ismail, Frederico in Calafate were great. Andres in El Chalten was especially good. Had a nice pace for hiking and just an easy guy to be around for 9-10 hours. His knowledge of geology was great and interesting to us. Patagonia Camp yurts were fun, unique, warm, cozy, and loved that they were separated. El Puma , in El Chalten, was very comfortable and well situated. Loved Alta Vista in El Calafate because I wouldn't have wanted to be in town. I loved hiking from the house and riding the horses was special. Alta Vista’s...

Opting For Adventure & Giving Back

Opting For Adventure & Giving Back
Wildland is opting to close our office this Black Friday to encourage our staff, friends and family to get out, give thanks and enjoy the wild. We have a lot to be thankful for as we approach our 30th anniversary and what better time to say thanks than Thanksgiving? This year we're giving thanks to an incredible cause and you can too! A young Wildland traveler, 12-year-old Jamie Eisner, who recently returned from a  family safari in Tanzania  has taken on the monumental task of raising money to build a well for a school she visited. “Before I visited Tanzania, I took for granted that I have easy access to water whenever I want, air conditioning, plenty of food, medicine, a great education, and so much more. The children at Mikocheni have none of this, but we can give them something that would change their lives,” explains Jamie. “With the well, the kids will...

A Trip for the Record Books!

A Trip for the Record Books!
This family of four, along with their friend, returned a week ago from Peru on Our Sacred Lands of the Incas adventure . They had a fabulous time and below are some of their comments from their trip. "Gretchen, Our trip to Peru was one for the record books!  Probably some of the best scenery since I traveled to the South Island of New Zealand.  Didn't hurt that the weather was sunny and gorgeous every day.  All of the tour operators, restaurants, drivers and hotels were perfect.  I have a new favorite drink, the Pisco Sour.  Really loved the Monasterio and the Inkaterra in Machu Picchu .  The buffet lunch at Machu Picchu was spectacular.  I will definitely consider using your travel company again and will refer you to any friends for their travel needs. Thank you so much." Here's the family's full trip evaluation: Trip Name: Sacred Lands of the...

A Great Trip We Will Cherish for a Lifetime!

A Great Trip We Will Cherish for a Lifetime!
Daryl and his grandson just returned from a customized Sacred Lands of the Incas adventure where they not only visited Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, they added on time doing a fly-over of the Nazca lines and sand boarding on the high dunes surrounding Ica, in the wine country of Peru.  "Our trip was outstanding in all respects, starting with the various guides and including the accommodations. Machu Picchu was of course the highlight. I came away both amazed by what I witnessed and convinced they had backhoes and frontend loaders in the 1500’s. I just can’t imagine they could do it any other way. The Nazca lines were impressive although a disappointment for my grandson, as he is vision impaired and was unable to see them.........I had been concerned about that from the beginning. He bounced back though and had an amazing time the next day on...
