I don't want this trip to end!

I don't want this trip to end!
How rewarding it is to hear a teenager say, “I don’t want this trip to end!"? Costa Rica and Central America have become a great destination for multigenerational family travel in the last few years. The country offers a lot in terms of personal safety, lovely accommodations and a variety of unique adventures. Plus, many cultural activities perfect for travel enthusiasts of all ages. With destinations like Costa Rica, grandparents have the opportunity to introduce the younger generation to the thrill of adventure, like ziplining through the jungle or surfing in warm tropical waters. It's truly an incredible gift for a grandparent to be able to plant the seeds of growth through travel and discovery at an early age. Where these positive experiences will help expand their horizons and possibly last a lifetime. Regardless if it's experiencing a new activity or taking part in a cultural tradition, the lessons learned by...

The Joy of Creating Memorable Adventures

The Joy of Creating Memorable Adventures
We routinely receive glowing reviews from our Galapagos travelers, which is not surprising. The Galapagos Islands are on so many “MUST SEE!” lists for very good reasons. One of my favorites comes from a single mom who recently took her 10-year-old daughter to the Galapagos:  “This trip has inspired me to continue with this type of travel - it was a life time experience. Loved sharing it with my daughter and being able to see her relate and understand and learn - the Family part of the trip was perfect in that regard. On our flight home she talked of doing her 5th grade science project on Ecuador and the equator - that says it all!” That does “say it all!” If there is any single thing I strive to accomplish as the Galapagos & Ecuador Program Director, it is to assist in inspiring travelers – especially 10-year-old travelers – to...

Spring break without the crazies

Spring break without the crazies
Galapagos is a terrific Spring Break destination, it rivals Christmas & New Years as one of the most popular time periods for families. The great thing about our Galapagos Adventure Cruise  is we can intentionally juggle passenger loads so that 1 yacht has families with younger kids (ages 6-11, 12 years), another has mid-older teens, and the third is adults only. So any travelers to the Galapagos who prefer it, can be completely free from kids in general. And of course, Galapagos National Park rules strictly forbid any food or drink (except water) to be brought onto the pristine islands, so no one has to worry about stepping around beer bottles, pizza boxes or fast food wrappers! And if anyone does get too rowdy, you can always toss them overboard... Your friendly Galapagos expert, Sherry Howland Got questions about trips to the Galapagos ?
