A Trip for the Record Books!

A Trip for the Record Books!
This family of four, along with their friend, returned a week ago from Peru on Our Sacred Lands of the Incas adventure . They had a fabulous time and below are some of their comments from their trip. "Gretchen, Our trip to Peru was one for the record books!  Probably some of the best scenery since I traveled to the South Island of New Zealand.  Didn't hurt that the weather was sunny and gorgeous every day.  All of the tour operators, restaurants, drivers and hotels were perfect.  I have a new favorite drink, the Pisco Sour.  Really loved the Monasterio and the Inkaterra in Machu Picchu .  The buffet lunch at Machu Picchu was spectacular.  I will definitely consider using your travel company again and will refer you to any friends for their travel needs. Thank you so much." Here's the family's full trip evaluation: Trip Name: Sacred Lands of the...

A Great Trip We Will Cherish for a Lifetime!

A Great Trip We Will Cherish for a Lifetime!
Daryl and his grandson just returned from a customized Sacred Lands of the Incas adventure where they not only visited Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, they added on time doing a fly-over of the Nazca lines and sand boarding on the high dunes surrounding Ica, in the wine country of Peru.  "Our trip was outstanding in all respects, starting with the various guides and including the accommodations. Machu Picchu was of course the highlight. I came away both amazed by what I witnessed and convinced they had backhoes and frontend loaders in the 1500’s. I just can’t imagine they could do it any other way. The Nazca lines were impressive although a disappointment for my grandson, as he is vision impaired and was unable to see them.........I had been concerned about that from the beginning. He bounced back though and had an amazing time the next day on...

Machu Picchu is a don't miss travel destination

Machu Picchu is a don't miss travel destination
This multigenerational family just returned from their Sacred Lands of the Incas trip to Peru- their 5 th Wildland Adventure! Beginning in Cusco, they continued on to the lush Sacred Valley where they met with locals and hiked to remote villages and ruins.  They ended their trip at the ancient and awe-inspiring citadel of Machu Picchu with a stunning and challenging hike up to the impressive Huayna Picchu.    “We signed up for this trip because Machu Picchu is a don't miss travel destination and I like outdoor trips with the kids. Wildland's help in planning and preparation was excellent.  We had all the right clothing and accessories. Reading "Turn right at Machu Picchu" was a fantastic recommendation. Ground arrangements were prefect- always someone there to greet us. Our guide, Elkin was great.  Elkin had to deal with some of us struggling during the 3 hour hike and he took my...

One of the most amazing things I have ever seen

One of the most amazing things I have ever seen
Susan and her family just returned from our Sacred Lands of the Incas Adventure and was amazed by Machu Picchu, Cusco and the people they met while in Peru. “I appreciated all the information that you sent and found it very helpful. We were able to get a good background from this information and the books you suggested. Machu Picchu was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. It was truly fascinating and I am inspired to research and read more about these people and their way of life. We also found the time in and around Cusco to be fascinating. Walking through some of the villages and seeing how the people live and go about their daily activities was eye-opening. I watched one woman trudge up a hill to a village outside Cusco. She was wearing typical garb with a hat and brightly colored skirt. Her feet,...

50 and Nifty with Faye Holtz

50 and Nifty with Faye Holtz
Faye Holtz came to Wildland as an alumni traveler wanting to celebrate her 50th birthday. What better way than spend it cooking in the culinary capital of South America, visiting the ancient Incan ruins of Machu Picchu and exploring the canopy of the Amazon?! After 12 days of adventure travel in Peru here are some of Faye’s thoughts when asked about her Wildland Adventure: “I wanted to let you know how impressed I was with…the service Gerhard and I received during the entire trip...Ruben was a wonderful guide and took good care of us.  All of the pickups, transferred, etc. went according to plan…  I would also like to give credit to the drivers and individuals who picked us up at the airport/hotels to make sure we made it to our next destination.  Everyone was so helpful and the guides were very knowledgeable.  It was so reassuring knowing that someone was there...
