As Patagonia’s trekking season comes to a close this year, Wildland Adventurers alumni Lynn and Lawrence, report back in after spending the final days of their trip to Patagonia in the Fitz Roy area of Argentine Patagonia. Lynn enthusiastically recounts, “We absolutely adored the trip and we LOVED the trekking! We know that many people are weary about traveling to Patagonia at the very end and beginning of the season, but it was perfect- there were hardly any tourists and mostly locals, who were eager to interact with us and make suggestions of local hot spots in El Chalten; the restaurants in this town are great! Our guide, Shaun, was wonderful! We are very active and got to cover 26 miles in two days around Los Glaciares National Park. Traci and Denise returned recently from a custom trip to Chile. They wanted time to do more challenging trekking in Torres del Paine but also indulge in the luxury that Patagonia Camp has to offer. They ultimately tackled the famous W-trek using Eco-Camp as their base and spent 4 nights in lavish yurts at Patagonia Camp. Crafting your own itinerary is really the way to go!
Marilyn and Steve, along with their friends Tom and Betlyn, just returned from a customized adventure exploring the top sites of Patagonia. Beginning in Santiago, they continued on to a luxurious and active jaunt in Torres del Paine at Explora Lodge, glacier viewing in El Calafate, sunset sailing in Bariloche and finishing in Buenos Aires with time to catch a live jazz show and test out their tango skills!
