November: Last Chance EVER for our Wild Botswana Safari, Save $600 per person

November: Last Chance EVER for our Wild Botswana Safari, Save $600 per person
That's right! Our most popular Wildland Adventure in Botswana  is coming to an end after 2014 and there only few spaces remaining on the final departures in November (11th - 20th or 24th - Dec 2nd). The semi-permanent mobile safari camps utilized in this itinerary are strategically located within exclusive wildlife concessions which have a strict occupancy limits to ensure low pressure on the wildlife and an intimate wildlife experience for guests. In 2015, these camps will be packed up and moved to make more room in the concessions for higher priced accommodations. The Wild Botswana therefore offers an incredible value for the remainder of 2014 and we're discounting it an additioanl $600 per person! Limited to 8 travelers and under the guidance of one master safari guide throughout, enjoy exclusive wildlife viewing throughout the Okavango Delta, Chobe and Linyanti.  November in Botswana provides excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing as much...

Heart Pounding Mokoro Ride in Botswana's Okavango Delta

Heart Pounding Mokoro Ride in Botswana's Okavango Delta
Our Great Wilderness Journey in Botswana was absolutely amazing!  I don’t think we could have had a better guide. Francis Kudomo was so knowledgeable about everything from animals to stars to the history of Botswana.  He was hospitable, patient, and accommodating.  He knew the wildlife like the back of his hand and in a short time we trusted him.  He was so thorough in making sure all our bags were with us before each flight, in going over camp rules, letting us know the plans for each day the night before.  With four women on our safari he was very patient with frequent loo stops.  He never minded.  What a great guy!    We had never gone anywhere with a tour before and I don’t think we could have had a better group.  We were all like-minded in so many ways and meshed very well.  We were probably one of the most talkative...

What's Happening in Africa

What's Happening in Africa
As Wildland's Africa Program Director I have some exciting news from Southern Africa and new opportunities to share.  South African Rand Exchange Rate:  The ZAR is trading at nearly 10.5 to the dollar (up from 8 in 2012) offering some excellent opportunities in South Africa and Namibia, compared to 16-18% tax and permit fee increases on tourism related services in other popular safari destinations including as Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Flights : Refurbished airports and new flight schedules are making it easier to link up wildlife parks and to move throughout Africa. Here’s some important ones: Skukuza Airport (SZK) near Kruger National Park reopened making a direct and seamless connection between Cape Town and the famed private concessions bordering the park. Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe (VFA) is building a new runway that should be complete by April 2015 allowing for large aircraft opening up this vital gateway for better access...

New Migrations in Africa

What I'm most excited about in our Wild World of adventure travel for 2014 are new connections and routes throughout Eastern and Southern Africa that now make it possible to easily combine more countries and diverse habitats with the best wildlife reserves allowing us to design exceptional safari experiences befitting your style, interests and time frame. East Africa Our Best of Kenya and Tanzania is a luxury African safari that combines the vast Mara-Serengeti ecosystem straddling both countries to witness the greatest concentration and diversity of wildlife in Africa. Following the natural migratory route of millions of wildebeest and zebras, now it is possible to traverse directly across the unseen border between Kenya and Tanzania without having to travel all day back through the hubs of Arusha and Nairobi. Similarly, a new direct flight right out of the Serengeti to Kigali, Rwanda, takes you on a scenic over flight from the...

Differences Between Eastern and Southern Africa

Larger than China, Europe and the United States combined, the African continent is a vast and varied. Deciding where to go in Africa is your first decision when planning your safari. Each destination offers an experience that is unique and awe-inspiring: whether you travel to Eastern Africa or Southern Africa the wildlife will astound you. And on a Wildland Adventures African safari some of your most memorable and meaningful experiences will be among the people you meet traveling with our exceptional guides and sharing stories with indigenous people like the Zulu of South Africa or the Maasai of Kenya and Tanzania. There are many factors to consider in deciding where to go on safari. Our African travel specialists have spent much of their lives on African safari tours. They can help you decide where to go on safari in Africa, and once you know where you want to go they help...
