The distance from the rest of the world was part of the appeal

The distance from the rest of the world was part of the appeal
Carol and Chas just returned from our newest Chile Adventure- Exploring Wild Chile: Off the Beaten Path in Patagonia with a customized cruise in the middle.  Beginning in “Chile’s Yellowstone”- Patagonia Conservation- in the Aysen Region, continuing on to explore the southern fjords on an intimate cruise and culminating amidst the stellar peaks of Torres del Paine National Park, in the south, Carol recounts her experience here: “Every part of our trip was wonderful.  We enjoyed all of the accommodations.  Hotel Castillo Rojo in Santiago was delightful, lovely staff, nice quiet neighborhood with lots to walk to (restaurants, hike up to the Santuario Imaculata Concepcion, Pablo Neruda house, etc.)  It was lovely being in the Parque Patagonia in Valle Chacabuco.  The distance from the rest of the world was part of the appeal.  It took 8 hours of driving on a dirt road to get there, rather than the 5 hour...

Custom Patagonia: Way beyond expectations!

Custom Patagonia: Way beyond expectations!
Gary was a solo traveler, outdoor-enthusiast looking for a customized Patagonia Adventure . His wild style and enthusiasm is the epitome of what we love to see in our travelers! “The basic idea of the trip was mine as I wanted to visit and experience Patagonia. I had read about Patagonia Camp but knew little else about how to put this total "package" together. I love the outdoors and wanted to experience as much of Patagonia as I could within my time constraints. The end result of the trip clearly showed me that Gretchen listened to me in our initial discussions concerning what I was looking to do and experience. I very much appreciated her input and willingness to alter the details of the trip when necessary. Looking back I cannot honestly say what you could have done to have made things better or easier. Wildland Adventures’ pre-departure packet and itinerary...

Traversing Mountains and Cultures with Paula and Frank

Traversing Mountains and Cultures with Paula and Frank
Paula and Frank just returned from their Hiker’s Patagonia trip to Chile and Argentina - their FOURTH Wildland Adventure! Here they share their personal highlights, thoughts on guides and advice for future travelers. Please enjoy some of their incredible pictures of Patagonia that truly convey the remote, wild and magnificent splendor that this untamed austral landscape has to offer. HIGHLIGHTS: "We enjoyed the hiking experiences the most. Torres del Paine and the Fitzroy range were our major goals, and we were lucky enough to have 2 out of 3 days in each place for good visibility. I enjoyed Chile more than Argentina for the other aspects of the trip. The hotel in Santiago was excellent. The food in all of Chile was great – especially the vegetarian options. The accommodations at Patagonia Camp were perfect. We also liked the room at Alta Vista, in El Calafate, Argentina. All the people along...
