The Eden family came to us with a request - they wanted to visit their son Dan in South America. Dan had spent the last few months traveling around Chile and the rest of the family decided there was no time like the present! With just a month of time to plan we discussed a few options and a custom trip to Patagonia won out (as it often does). The Edens started in Buenos Aires and then flew to El Calafate, the gateway to Argentinian Patagonia where they met up with Dan. From there it was a whirlwind two weeks of hiking to the spires of Fitz Roy, trekking the trails in Torres del Paine, and kayaking for 3 days through the fjords of Chilean Patagonia before finishing up their grand adventure in Santiago.
The Cerro Torre hike was what really stood out for the Eden's, "it was challenging and beautiful." They also really enjoyed Estancia Cristina and the Perito Moreno Glacier. Although, most of all they loved having a guide all to themselves instead of being with a lot of other travelers.
Another highlight was their time in Torres del Paine where I set them up at the beautiful Patagonia Camp. The Eden's raved about the employees, the food, the private yurts and also mentioned how they met so many other interesting travelers there. From Patagonia camp the Eden's did a horseback riding excursion, kayaked and best off all took in the breathtaking views that surround the camp.
Usually what our travelers appreciate the most is having an outstanding guide and this trip was no different. They appreciated that in each destination they had a local guide that was knowledgeable, experienced and even had a sense of humor... They mentioned that their last guide on the kayaking portion of their trip was very engaging and worked very hard, on top of also being very kind, knowledgeable and funny!
At the end of the day, the Eden's wanted to share a magical experience with their son and they told us that planning this custom trip to Patagonia really allowed them a memorable experience. Hearing comments like that is why we do what we do, we love sharing the world with the people who want to make the most of it.
