The Carolans got married in September and decided that our Epic Chile Adventure was just the way to start off their lives together! They customized the itinerary by adding trips to the wine region outside Santiago and Argentinian Patagonia on top of the Atacama desert, Torres del Paine, and Santiago. It was truly an epic trip to start off what we're sure will be a life full of adventure for these newlyweds!
We wanted to send a big thank you for putting together such an amazing itinerary! Having everything planned and taken care of really allowed us to fully enjoy exploring Chile. We loved being able to see all of the highlights of the entire country of Chile - the desert, Santiago, wine country and Patagonia - and the variety of experiences and landscapes each had to offer. Same with being able to dip into Argentina to see that side of Patagonia with its glaciers (and knock off another country from our list).
Their favorite place was Remota, a lodge in Torres del Paine (Chilean Patagonia). They thought the hotel was beautiful, the service amazing, and the food delicious! The Carolans told us they felt like a part of the Remota community which made the experience wonderful and memorable. According to the Carolans, "Our guides, Juan and Gonzalo, at Hotel Remota were awesome!"
The Carolans also explored the remote and stark desert of Northern Chile, spending 4 days in the Atacama where they visited geysers, saw flamingos, and even hiked up one of the towering volcanoes that rises out of the desert! One of their favorite guides in the Atacama, Pablo, took them for a very challenging hike up Toco Volcano which was "well worth it for the 360 degree views and the good banter to help us up the mountain."
What do the Carolans recommend for anyone looking to do a similar trip? Have Wildland plan as much as possible for the trip so that you don't have to worry about anything and can truly enjoy your trip! Kelsey definitely understood the variety of activities we were looking for and tailored our trip to exactly that.
