Epic Southern Africa Guest Review

IMG_20190825_132634

The Freemans, long-time wildland alumni, wanted to explore Southern Africa for their 40th anniversary and we helped them plan an epic trip through Zambia, Botswana, South Africa and Namibia.

We wanted to see Botswana, Vic Falls and Capetown, but Chris Moriarty strongly urged me to add Namibia. So glad we did! Everyplace was special in its own way and it was truly the trip-of-a-lifetime. We particularly loved Sindabezi Island, Linyati Ebony and Little Kulala camps and the honeymoon suite at Sindabezi made it hard to leave! All of the romantic dinners were great, especially the surprise 40th anniversary dinner on the candlelight floating dock on Zambezi River under the full moon, it blew us away.

We loved the Devil's Pool, the hot-air balloon over Namibia, and the Scenic air trip over the Namib desert. The game drive at Hoanib Valley Camp is the stuff dreams are made of and we loved the foodie tour and Cape Point tours in Capetown. Other highlights were the Himba village, learning about how much the ugly stain of apartheid still hangs over South Africa, and meeting a 14 Year old village boy who hitched ride a with us in Namibia to find his goats. And I shall never forget the beautiful music that was sung to us, nor the look in the eyes of the Namibian people we met." - The Freemans
