Everybody loves Deniz, our Turkey guide

Our Turkey guide, Deniz Kilic, is always getting kisses and rave reviews.
Deniz Kilic receives rave reviews for his charming, fun and easygoing character. His greatest passion is to share Turkish culture by meeting local people in all walks of daily life, and by introducing our travelers to past civilizations through regional dishes represented in Turkish cuisine. So when the Lopinots wanted to venture out into the highlands and the coast of the Black Sea before joining our Turquoise Coast Odyssey we immediately thought of Deniz who prefers to travel the back roads. They jived perfectly because when he started to drive on a paved road the Lopinots insisted that they "get lost" on the side roads among small villages. On one such day driving the back roads in search of adventure they were invited to join in the annual feast-to-pray-for-rain in a local village of Amasya where they were received with open arms, welcomed at the table, and to participate in the celebration.

Deniz loves guiding because it keeps him out of the office, traveling and meeting people. He was born in 1971 on the Aegean coast near where he now resides in Bodrum. He studied psychology at ODTU (Middle East Technical University), where he obtained certification as a Professional Guide at the Aegean University, and then pursued his studies at Anadolu University in Public Management. Deniz is nationally certified as a Nature Guide and Gallipolli Battlefields specialist, as well as in First Aid. He is an experienced motorbike, motocross, and enduro racer. He has also led rock climbing, trekking and bicycle trips.

Here are a few comments from a few of Deniz' other fans on Wildland Adventures in Turkey:

Without a doubt Deniz is the best guide we have ever met. I commend your choice because he bridged the age gap between my son and myself effortlessly. Alex hit it off with Deniz right away and the camaraderie built over the 9 days. He is educated, savvy, has a great sense of humor and was tuned in to our state of mind from day to day. He adjusted the itinerary, rest stops, activities, meals- all with intuition to our style of travel. His knowledge of both Turkish and American culture, unflagging energy, and warm personal style made our wide ranging discussions a highlight of the trip. He made this father-son trip a truly memorable experience.

Highlights of Turkey

When I return to Turkey Deniz is the guide I will request. He is professional, enthusiastic, and has a great personality. He arranged every day to include a variety of different and unique activities. He took us to great restaurants of many types with an amazing variety of dishes. Together with Deniz we enjoyed and participated in the daily life of Turkey.
