One of the most frequent questions I get is how to pack for a safari. Many itineraries in Africa involve flights with strict baggage size and weight limitations due to space on small planes. Pay close attention to your trip itinerary and information to make sure that you are using the correct size and weight luggage. Often soft-sided baggage (duffel bag) is essential for fitting baggage in small bush flights and even 4 x 4 safari vehicles. Even if you don't need to pack light, I recommend bringing no more than a carry-on size bag to eliminate chances for your bag to be lost in international transit. Laundry facilities are offered at many of the camps and lodges in Africa, so it can be easier to pack lighter than you might think. Make sure you don't forget your SUNSCREEN like I did in my video!
