We've taken many trips with Wildland and they've always given us great guides and lodging. So when we decided to visit Nicaragua to see some friends, we turned to Wildland, who put together a wonderful tour of the country. Grettel Calderon really worked hard to make this a truly memorable trip.
We loved the hike up Cerro Negro Volcano and the slide boarding down (Jerry slid and I walked). The city tours of Leon, Granada, Managua, and the boat tour of Las Isletas were done at a perfect pace for us and were loaded with a ton of information. Our guide, Julio, was a fountain of knowledge and personality.
Our visit to the Yemaya Hotel on Little Corn Island was very special - it's a beautiful property with a really good restaurant. The snorkeling was outstanding and we loved being able to work in a 3 day visit with our friends on Ometepe Island. All the transfers worked like clockwork and the hike in the Cloud Forest was very nice.
We really liked our guide Julio who shared many experiences with us and was very knowledgeable. We couldn't have asked for a better pair than Julio and Henry, our driver. Julio had a great command of English language, a wonderful personality, and his extensive knowledge of everything made us look forward to being with him every day. Our vehicle was also perfect for our travels. It was nice to have four wheel drive when we drove up Mombacho Volcano, which was probably a 40 degree incline, and there was plenty of room for our luggage. - Jerry & Elizabeth T.
