Our Shared Passion for Compassion

This month I want to share A Closer Look at how we at Wildland give back in our own communities. Anne and I have an inspirational story of giving the gift of travel to a deserving young person in our neighborhood schools who rose up against the odds, and now the world beckons. Check out our feel-good video interview with local student Shea, and read the story in our local Edmonds news about how shocked they were when we invited Shea to a pho dinner at our home and surprised them with an all-expenses-paid adventure to Vietnam. Our Marketing Associate, Hannah, just rode her bike across Washington State to support resettlement of refugees in our area and raised close to $6,000. Read About Her Journey here.

Our Marketing Director, Jonathan, takes local students on outdoor adventures through the Sierra Club's Inspiring Connections Outdoors program to connect with nature.

When you call Chris to travel to Africa, he may be working from home to be near the base when he's on duty sharing his climbing skills and wilderness medicine training as a volunteer medical technician for the Snohomish County Helicopter Rescue Team in the Cascade Mountains.

Our Central America Program Director, Grettel, has distributed eyeglasses in poor neighborhoods near her home in San Jose, Costa Rica, and helped facilitate art workshops in battered women's shelters to bring out the creative side of women who need self-love and renewed self-confidence.

On the international front, we have launched a new Water for Hwange Safari in Zimbabwe that is your opportunity to combine an incredible wildlife safari experience with immersion in village life and hands-on conservation work alongside rangers and scientists on the front lines of wildlife protection. The price of the safari includes a $700 tax-deductible donation to our non-profit Travelers Conservation Trust that is dedicated 100% to support the communities you visit.

Anne & I will be leading two upcoming special trips, the first one is celebrating the Art, Music, and Dance of Cuba and then we're headed to India to experience the biggest spiritual gathering in the world known as Ardh Kumbh Mela

Join us this November, as invited guests into the homes, studios and performance venues of Cuba's most accomplished performing artists eager to share their creative talents and a personal perspective of Cuban culture and life on the island. View Itinerary

Are you feeling called to join us on a transformative journey to India? Sharing our experiences at holy sites and in local sacred ceremonies, including the largest spiritual gathering of sadhus on Earth, we'll reawaken our own spirit to return renewed. View Itinerary

If you have any questions about our new Water for Hwange Safari, founder's trips, or how we give back please don't hesitate to ask.

Keeping it wild,

Kurt Kutay
