"My husband and I both feel our trip to Rwanda, Tanzania and Kenya was one of the best, if not the best, trip we've ever had and that is saying a lot since we are constantly traveling. Seeing the gorillas in Rwanda 2 days in a row was life-changing and the best part of our trip! Everything about the country was fascinating because of the recent political changes. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Kigali Serena Hotel and Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge in Rwanda. Our local guides were all fantastic but we especially enjoyed our guide, Charles Karenzi, who opened our eyes to his beautiful country and to the gorillas. We appreciated his openness in explaining the recent history of the country and his personal experiences."
"In Kenya and Tanzania, we had some amazing guides as well. Tinka Jackson, went out of his way to make sure we saw, photographed, and understood the animals as well as the Maasai people and we will never forget Sia Gabriel at Sayari Camp. This intelligent young woman was such a joy. She and Saidi, the manager of Sayuri, dined with us nightly and they went out of their way to share stories about their own lives and their culture. It was extremely interesting to have a female guide. John Vesso at Dunia was very enthusiastic in introducing the Central Serengeti to us and he happily drove us 4 hours to try to find the migration. Petranila, the manager and her staff at Dunia were sincere and efficient during our entire stay. Hashim Nyka at Ngorongoro went out of his way to make the final stop on our trip a memorable one. Because we had been on the road 2 1/2 weeks before our stop in Ngorongoro, we had seen all of the animals except the black rinos and Hashim delivered 2 of them to us at the crater. The openness and honesty of the guides in introducing us to their countries/regions was a highlight for us. Rekero Camp, Sayari Camp and Plantation Lodge were stand out accommodations in Kenya and Tanzania and we enjoyed every safari drive we took during the trip."
"To fellow travelers: Every person we encountered was warm, friendly and hospitable. Do NOT be afraid of traveling to Africa! It is safe and the accommodations are gorgeous and comfortable." - The Swanks
