Thanks For The Memories of India

Thanks For The Memories of India

Thanks for the memories
Of things I can't forget
The people I met
I did my part
India's not for the faint of heart.

Thanks for the memories
Days spent on a bumpy ride
Seeking tigers that hide.
How thrilling it was

Thanks for the memories
Of jeep safaris
And silky saris
Squirrels that fly
Souvenirs we buy
How delightful it was

Thanks for the memories
The cows, the rickshaws
The tucs and big trucks
The traffic in the streets
How I prayed and shrieked
How crazy it was

Thanks for the memories
Of lunch and dinner curries
Rice, Nan and Pooris
How tasty it was

Thanks for the memories
The Taj at evening and at dawn
Eternal Ganges rolls along A skull near the river
That gave me a shiver
How sobering it was

Karma Sutra carved in stone
Positions Christians wouldn't condone
I would need a book
To practice the look
How naughty it was

Thanks for the memories
Of camels in the dark
Flames burned and sparked
The evening was grand
Our party in the sand
Thank you so much
