When I arrived in Morocco, I expected to be blown away by the food, the bustling souks, and the vibrant culture. What I didn't expect was to leave Morocco impressed by the sheer amount of geographic diversity that this small nation has to offer. Roughly the size of California you can start your day on the ocean and arrive in the mighty sand dunes of the Sahara by nightfall. In the mountain town of Ifrane you can wander through pine forests home to monkeys and hike through rolling green hills that look like a postcard straight out of Scotland. Snow-capped Jebel Toubkal, the highest mountain North Africa (13,671 ft), wild rock formations, sandy beaches,1,600ft deep gorges, and fields of roses stretching as far as the eye can see are all part of the ever changing landscapes that greet you as you explore this unique nation.
