Wildland guests who travel to South Africa have generously contributed to Uthando (Love in the Xhosa language) over the years which supports community development projects in and around Cape Town. They work with a wide variety of projects like: urban farming, youth development, senior centers, early childhood development, sports, dance, music, and community theaters. With the generous support of travelers and donors, Uthando allocated more than $340,000 to 57 different community development projects in 2018 and 2019 alone. This has included the construction of 5 new pre-schools (educare)! They have also sponsored and supported local artists in creating murals.
Their team works very hard with a sincere passion and love for Africa, and pride in the people and local community projects they work with and support. We at Wildland and our non-profit, The Traveler's Conservation Trust, are proud to support organizations like Uthando that are making a real difference in people's lives!
If you are going to visit Cape Town and would be interested in contributing and/or seeing some of the work this amazing organization has done, let me know!
