Why Travel to Thailand?

Thai Beach

Thailand's nickname"The Land of Smiles" is a well deserved moniker, as it is a country with a very rich culture, beautiful nature, great infrastructure, and friendly people that want to get to know travelers and show them the wonders of their country. Thailand not only boasts idyllic beaches and glittering temples but also beautiful national parks and traditional villages. There are so many reasons to visit Thailand, but here are some highlights:

Bangkok: The colorful and exciting hub of SE Asia, Bangkok offers everything from age-old palaces that will educate and entertain to ultra modern sky trains and bustling markets. Examine the arts and culture of traditional shop houses, taste the exquisite local cuisine, seek out hidden amulet stores, and relish in the historical tales of this ancient capital. Cruise the floating markets by longboat!

Chiang Mai: Thailand's cultural and outdoor capital. Chiang Mai has a wonderful mix of cultural sites, jungle activities and hikes, and animal projects sure to entertain any family. This city has a lot to offer from golden temples, enticing restaurants and extensive shopping markets. Venturing just outside the city meet your new elephant friend, zipline through the jungle, hike through hill tribes meeting the locals along the way.  Visit an elephant sanctuary!

Krabi: Beautiful beaches that can be a perfect finale to any Thailand adventure. With a youthful energy and laid back feel Krabi can be explored in many ways: taste the Muslim-Thai cusine, take to the water in a kayak or to snorkel, hike to nearby waterfalls or caves, glimpse rural life with a stroll through a fishing village, or just lounge on the beach.  Mangrove expedition by boat!

Khao Yai National Park: Thailand's oldest national park of spectacular forests teeming with wildlife, where gibbons, macaques, and hornbills play overhead. A hike in the forest is the best way to explore Khao Yai to search for the 320 species of birds and 66 species of mammals, including a healthy population of about 200 wild elephants that reside in the park. Hike to Haew Suwat Waterfall for a picnic!

Phuket: Most popular beach area in the country. While it has endless beaches and chances for amazing water adventures. Phuket Old Town will captivate your senses and bring to life a bygone era of colonial traders and Chinese and Muslim immigrants. Stroll along sidewalks lined with lively shophouses, smell the incense emanating from a Chinese temple and delight in the fresh market's showcase of exuberant fruits and vegetables. Foodie tour of Phuket Old Town!

Koh Samui: Thailand's second largest island, offers palm-fringed beaches, coconut groves and dense, mountainous rainforest, plus luxury resorts and posh spas. While luxury is lovely, go beyond to the nearby islands for snorkeling and kayaking below towering limestone cliffs.  Kayak Angthong National Marine Park!

Khao Sok National Park: Lots of adventure options in this national park with trekking, canoeing, and jeep safaris to give you an experience of a lifetime. Drift along the jungle river passing limestone mountains and cliffs covered with exotic tropical vegetation. Keep your eyes on the jungle for the chance spotting of wild elephants, leopards, a range of monkeys including dusky langurs, snakes, and almost 200 species of bird living the park.  Canoe through the jungle!
